West: Final Top Ten Defensive Tackles

Eddie Vanderdoes

Auburn (Calif.) Placer's Eddie Vanderdoes heads the list of the West's top defensive tackles in the final rankings for 2013...

West: Final Top Five Defensive Tackles
Location: Placer, Calif.
High School: Placer
Size: 6-4, 285
Recruiting: Alabama, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, Washington
The Skinny: Vanderdoes may be the best defensive tackle to come out of the West in the last decade, and has offers from all over the country.  Followed up a dominant Oregon NFTC performance with an MVP performance at The Opening.  Once he got into pads, it was much the same, an all-state senior year that he capped with a stellar showing all week at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Location: Petaluma, Calif.
High School: Casa Grande
Size: 6-2/260
Recruiting: Committed to Washington
The Skinny: Was one of the best defensive linemen at the Oakland NFTC then followed it up with one of the best performances of any defensive lineman at The Opening.  Did the same as a senior, and was also a part of the offense as a power back.  Then he put the capper on his fine season with a dominant effort all week at the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.

Location: Rialto, Calif.
High School: Carter
Size: 6-2/285
Recruiting: Committed to UCLA
The Skinny: Clark is an active and disruptive tackle who looked great at the UCLA Elite Camp, where he would commit a couple of weeks later.  Was stellar on both sides of the ball and had double-digit sacks, then ended the year with a great performance at the CalState Game.

Location: Honolulu, Hawaii
High School: Moanalua
Size: 6-4/280
Recruiting: Committed to Clemson
Scouting Report: One of the most heavily recruited prospects on the Islands this year, Pagano had offers from all over but chose Clemson in July, picking the ACC over several other conferences.  Pagano was selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Location: South Jordan, Utah
High School: Bingham
Size: 6-3/280
Recruiting: Committed to Utah
The Skinny: The top defensive lineman in Utah, Lotulelei is a good athlete with good bloodlines- his older brother Star was an All-American with the Utes this year and a projected Top 5 pick in the NFL Draft.  Ute fans are hoping for the same from his "little" brother, who was selected to the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl.
