Top Performers: City of Palms

Dakari Johnson

Ft. MYERS, Fla. -- Montverde (Fla.) Academy took home the City of Palms crown, so it should be no surprise that Dakari Johnson made the list of top performers. But who else stood out at the prestigious event?

Quick Take: One of the biggest prospects at the City of Palms was also one of the best. Johnson, a 6-foot-9, 240-pound big man, led Montverde to a championship and put together big game after big game. He's arguably the top rebounder in the country and he proved that over the course of a few days in Fort Myers. He's always in position to go after rebounds and he does so with aggression. He averaged 14.8 points nearly 14 rebounds through four games.

Recruiting: Kentucky, Syracuse & Georgetown

Quick Take: It was a big week for this Highland (Utah) Lone Peak standout. Haws finished the tournament in the top five in scoring at 20.3 points through four games. On a team that also includes Nick Emery and big man Eric Mika, Haws led his squad to the championship. Haws is a scrappy lead guard that plays with a chip on his shoulder. He has good vision, makes smart decisions with the basketball and is a very good long-range shooter with deep range.

Recruiting: Signed with BYU

Quick Take: Although his squad didn't make it far in the event, Jefferson certainly made his presence felt. He had one of the best performances of the week when he went for 27 points and 14 rebounds against Lake Wales. He's a versatile combo forward that impacts the game in many ways. He's tough, plays with energy and is always a threat for a double-double. Jefferson finished 7th in the event in scoring at 17.3 points in three games.

Recruiting: Signed with Arizona

Quick Take: Despite Chicago (Ill.) Whitney Young losing early in the event, Okafor was easily one of the top performers there. A load to handle on the block, Okafor scores at will around the basket. He has tremendous hands, great touch and a host of scoring moves. He also showed the ability to face the rim and hit mid-range jump shots. He averaged just over 17 points and 10 rebounds during Whitney Young's three games in the event.

Recruiting: Duke, North Carolina, Michigan State, Kentucky, Louisville, Illinois

Quick Take: You could basically pencil Wiggins in as a top performer in nearly every event he plays in. His first game at the City of Palms Classic was a special one as he finished 15-for-21 from the field and scored 31 points. He brought it on both ends of the floor and dominated HCYA. He hit just one three-pointer in that game, but he slashed his way to the rim and scored at will in transition.

Recruiting: Florida State, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, Syracuse & Ohio State

Quick Take: Outside of Johnson's final game in the City of Palms tournament, he was tremendous. Johnson finished No. 2 in scoring at 21.3 points per game and showed off an impressive long-range jump shot. Not necessarily known for his ability to shoot the ball, Johnson hit 10 of his 23 three-point attempts in the event. He also finished well at the rim and made plays in transition.

Recruiting: Signed with Marquette

Size: 7-8/190 |
Quick Take: One of the more consistent performers of the week was Williams. He saved his best game for Eric Mika where he went for a double-double and was efficient from the field. The 6-foot-8 power forward has expanded his game offensively. He hit face up jumpers out to 21-feet, but also scored off his hooks and driving finishes at the rim. He finished 5th in scoring at the event at 19.8 points a game and also added 9.5 rebounds.

Recruiting: Signed with Missouri

Size: 6-2/165 |
Quick Take: The Lake Wales standout led the event in scoring with 23 points per game. The 6-foot-2 guard knows how to score and did so by way of his jump shot. Brooks hit 15 of his 34 three-point attempts. A clear Division-1 talent, Brooks is bound to get a few more college looks after his big performance at the COP.

Recruiting: VCU, Florida Atlantic, FGCU, UCF
